(bfn = best friend's name)
You were what people called a 'seer'. Born with the gift of being able to see the red string of fate, you were capable of severing and reattaching the strings as you pleased. Few people knew you had this ability - in fact, you tried to hide it as much as possible, as you'd been bombarded with requests to change people's fates before. The only one who knew was your best friend.
And here, we have our problem.
You, (bfn), Tsukishima and Yamaguchi had been friends ever since you could remember. From childhood to adulthood, the four of you had each other's backs.
You remember how it all went down. You, Yamaguchi Tadashi's next-door neighbour, were one day dragged along to meet the boy's new friend, Tsukishima, who was with (bfn) at the time. You and (bfn) immediately clicked, and it felt like you two were simply meant to be friends.
Remember how we established that you were a seer? When you met, you were quite taken aback at seeing your very own string - one that unmistakably was connected to a certain blonde. You were so excited, you'd found the person you belonged with so early on in your life!
...Or at least, that's what you'd thought.
(bfn) was getting married to Tsukishima Kei tomorrow. It would be a lie to say that it didn't hurt you, but you cared so deeply for (bfn), and you knew Tsukishima loved her, too. You couldn't seperate them. You couldn't tell them the truth.
Back when you were in high school, she'd shyly asked you who Tsukishima's soulmate was, nervous as she didn't want to seem like she was using you. She'd told you, "you don't have to tell me, I know you don't like being asked these kinds of things," and yet...
Well, it's not like you lied. Telling her that she wasn't his soulmate wasn't a lie. Okay, maybe you did lie a bit when you also told her that you couldn't yet see who his soulmate was supposed to be.
And now you're here, at their wedding.
"I appreciate you so much for doing this for me," she told you with tears in her eyes.
Yes.
You'd agreed to bend the laws of soulmates for them.
"Just hold hands for a second, and close your eyes, okay?" you instructed.
The pair complied and did as they were told.
Swallowing in an attempt to hold back tears. It would be a lie to say that you hadn't developed feelings for the boy - after all, years of being together can do that. It was a lie when you said that closing one's eyes was important. It wasn't, but you didn't want them to see you severing something that seemed to lead to you.
You took a deep breath as you held the vibrant string in your hands. Grasping it more harshly, you dug your nail into the thread, slowly severing it. You did the same to (bfn)'s string. Tying the two severed strings together, you wiped at the tears that were threatening to spill with your sleeve.
"You can open your eyes now. It's done."
The couple hugged in joy, and you watched them with a pained smile.
You just hoped Yamaguchi would forgive you for severing his thread.

Take it back! [Tsukishima x Reader]
"TSUKISHIMA KEI!"
You stormed into the volleyball gym, clearly angry.
Everything stopped as the team members took in your fuming form. You obviously weren't from Karasuno. Your uniform was different. It was a light blue skirt and a white polo under a slightly loose cream sweatervest. There was also a red ribbon tied around your neck, denoting that you were a first year.
After observing you, they turned to Tsukishima, confusion clear among their faces.
"What is it Chibi-chan?" he droned, the boredom obvious in his voice.
"You totally said you would go to our practice today! Everyone was so excited too! Not to mention that I had to convinc

Oikawa X Reader | Skittish
"Damn, I want to eat ice cream!" You whined, glaring at the white plumes escaping your mouth as you spoke.
You heard a muffled sound on your left. Your eyes focused on Tooru's face. His nose was totally reddened by the cold wind. He was very skittish and every walk you had taken together had been a trial for him.
"How can you say that? It's so chilly outside no one will sell them at this time of the year!"
You puffed your cheeks. You craved for some good ice cream and a little cold was not going to stop you.
"You know, it can actually help me to warm up! You know, because it's cold so my body will reajust by heating more. Is all about energ

{reader is referred to with her/she pronouns}
Oikawa Tooru was looking forward to his match with Karasuno. He was really looking forward to it. He wasn't able to contain his excitement all week really! Iwaizumi had to constantly kick him for "looking so stupid with that smile of his". However, when the teammates of Karasuno filed into the gym to commence warm-ups, OIkawa couldn't tear his gaze away from a unfamiliar (and quite adorable) face.
{Name} was new to the Karasuno volleyball team. She joined them as a result of her friend Yachi's constant pestering. Not being very stubborn, {Name} had decided to help the team out And what she helps

"The Red String of Fate exists, and only some people have the ability to see the strings, and these people can actually cut strings and knot other people's strings in to alter the soulmate laws. Your best friend's wedding is tomorrow and they know you can see the string. They ask you to help them defy the laws of the universe and help them be with the person they love even though they know that's not their soulmate. You know they love each other so much so you help them, even though the person your best friend's marrying/your best friend is your soulmate."
